Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 October 2026

Your files never leave your device. We only see your email if you buy Pro.

What happens to your files

MIDI files and audio files (such as MP3, WAV or M4A) you load are processed entirely in your browser. They are never uploaded to us. For audio files, a melody-finding model runs on your device; the model files are served from our own site (not a third party) and are downloaded only when you choose an audio file. The WAV audio you render is created on your device, and any saving or sharing is up to you.

What we don't collect

Halal Hums has no accounts, no cookies and no analytics. Unless you buy Pro, we don't ask for your name, email address or any other personal details.

Buying Pro

When you buy Pro, Stripe collects your payment details and email address. We don't see your card details. We see your email and whether your purchase is paid, and use them only to unlock and restore Pro and to help with support.

Your browser stores an unlock flag in localStorage (a purchase reference and, if available, your email) so Pro stays on. We don't use cookies. If you restore a purchase, or the site checks one, the request goes to our server provider, Netlify, whose function checks with Stripe.

Third parties

Stripe. Processes payments as merchant of record. See Stripe's privacy policy.

Netlify. Hosts the site and runs the server function that verifies purchases. Netlify may log visitors' IP addresses and request data. See Netlify's privacy policy.

Google Fonts. The site's fonts load from Google Fonts, so Google receives your IP address and user agent when the page loads. See Google's privacy policy.

We don't receive or control the data these services collect.

Your rights under UK GDPR

Under UK GDPR you have rights over your personal data, including to access it, correct it, erase it, restrict or object to its use, and to data portability. We keep very little about you: the purchase details above are held by Stripe, and we only read them to check a purchase. You can ask us about your data by emailing rifatchow658@gmail.com, and contact the third parties above about the data they hold. If you are unhappy with how your data is handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

Children

The service is not aimed at children and we don't knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If this changes, for example if we add accounts or analytics, we will update this policy before the change goes live. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
